Hi
Following Nate's request, you will find a web page describing the
various version of software in use by Triumf TWIST collaborators.
These versions have not changed in the last few months.
See http://e614slow.triumf.ca/e614/sysman/twist_soft_versions.html
You will notice that the Linux kernel version is defined as
2.14.5 - up to 2.17 . It is my belief that the kernel version
is not that important, it is the compiler (egcs, glib, glibc)
that is important.
You can also find information about the Triumf TWIST Linux cluster
which has become the main platform for TWIST computing at Triumf.
The cluster uses NIS for maintaining a common environment when
logging to any of the machines in the cluster.
Each user has one unique home directory visible from all machines.
The data disks are located at mount point /twist/data2, etc
The various home directories are at /twist/lin05, /twist/lin06, etc
The equivalent to /usr/local is found at /twist/local.
Please see http://e614slow.triumf.ca/e614/sysman/twist_machines.html
If you wish to have an account on this system, please send me
email.
