Minutes of the E614 Software Meeting
12:30 Tuesday, 30 November 1999
ABSOFT compiler:
The ABSOFT compiler has been installed at Valparaiso, Alberta
and Texas A&M. However it will not allow the display package
to be linked at Valparaiso. At TRIUMF the package links OK
on the Alpha machines. It also links on LINUX but promptly
dumps the core in the photo command.
Pattern recognition:
Jim Musser is currently working on this.
Changes to MOFIA:
Maher has suggested that a hit index be included in the
DCWhits and DCPhits structures so that one can now loop over
only the wires that have hits instead of looping over all
wires in all planes to find hits.
Digitization in GEANT:
The next version of the E614 Monte Carlo will generate TDC
times by using a lookup table for isochrones in the drift cell.
So Takei is gathering the isochrone data from Yuri's GARFIELD
studies. The digitization will store the locations of all the
charge clusters (up to 40 currently) within a drift cell, so
that in principle times for each cluster are available.
GEANT history file/bank:
Roman will begin to look into this again.
Interactive GEANT:
Interactive GEANT appears to work on lin01 (LINUX) at TRIUMF
but not at Texas A&M. It may be that they need a MOTIF
license.
