Minutes of the E614 Software Group

                      10:00 AM Friday, 25 June 1999

 Analysis plans:

The debate goes on about whether to use linked lists for storing
hits or and array of data structures. Paul, Art and Jim have been
posting comments on this topic. Linked lists seem to be much
       slower.

Jim has a routine which time-orders hits. Carl suggested that
after the time ordering hits can be assigned to tracks and
categorized as unambiguous if it is clear they belong to a track,
ambiguous if they belong to more than one track, and unassigned
if they do belong to any track.

 Fortran 90:

No news on the F90 Linux compiler prolems.

 M13 Monte Carlo:

There is a discrepancy between Peter's M13 Monte Carlo and the
routines Raytrace and Zgoubi, but it may be that the fault lies
with Raytrace and Zgoubi in the way they treat beamline elements
       that are close together.

 Digitization progress:

Improved Monte Carlo digitization is now ready. An added bonus:
the entire event from beam muon to decay positron is now
digitized. Before general release, the analysis code needs
to be expanded to handle the new information from the PCs.

Next meeting: 10:00 AM PDT, 9 July 1999.
