Subject: tension epilogue
After taking a final set of measurements 384 days after the foils
were initially stretched, I am suspending the tests with these foils.
I'll keep the foils around in case we want to look for long term effects
a year or two down the road.
The charts in the attached file make a fairly convincing argument
that the foil tension relaxes exponentially with a time constant ~ 100
days to a final tension ~ 75% of the initial tension. They also
demonstrate that the higher tensioned foils relax faster, and to a lower
endpoint tension (expressed as a % of initial tension).
