The attached files show pulse height spectra obtained with an 55Fe source using DME in the new PPP chamber. Two different cylinders of gas were tested, the "large" DME cylinder which had no detectable freon contamination with GC ECD analysis, and the "new small" cylinder which had a 25 ppb freon 12 contaminant by GC ECD. In addition tests were done with/without our $1500 filters, different flow rates, and with the source moved closer and farther away from the chamber. The difference between the PPP spectra and the previous SWC ageing test chamber spectra is significant, there do not appear to be major differences between the various conditions tried with the PPP. DM02CEN.EPS - typical spectra from previous tests with the SWC ageing test chambers. RHEND1.EPS - "large" DME cylinder, source close, flow ~ 100 cc/min/chmbr, both filters inline. (flow left at 100 cc/min/chmbr for all "large" cyl tests). RHEND2.EPS - "large" DME cylinder, no filters RHEND3.EPS - "large" DME cylinder, no filters, source backed off. (to make sure we're illuminating entire cell). (Source left in this position for all following tests). RHEND4.EPS - "new small" DME cylinder, no filters, 100 cc/min/chmbr RHEND5.EPS - "new small" DME cylinder, no filters, flow reduced to ~ 20 cc/min/chmbr. RHEND6.EPS - "new small" DME cylinder, both filters inline, flow 100 cc/min/chmbr.
