Run plan for August 28, 2002. *Write down LHe level every couple of hours* ================================================================ Beam tune = (multiple), Gas degrader=40% He (to be ready for the next item) Trigger= MLT (low threshold) a. Study the positron "kinks and deltas". Find a channel tune that brings beam positrons into the spectrometer with a moderately large p-perp. This may imply mis tuning B2 relative to B1. (About +-2% or so.) Or try a spray tune. Start at one end of the range (30 or 50 MeV/c), find the "best" tune, scale it to another end and sweep B2 to see if the scaled tune is still optimal or B2 needs an adjustment. *Save the beam tunes* Then take 10M beam positron events each at 30, 35, 40, 45, 50 MeV/c. If the tune does not scale well additional B2 sweeps may be needed. ================================================================ At 7AM before the maintenance starts take a high intensity sample of stopped muons: Trigger= M Gas degrader=40% He Beam tune = m13dev_29p4_all.snap, restore slits (18, 82, 10, 20) Adjust the beam rate by proportionally scaling F0V and F0H so that the TRIG scaler is about 25% below the M scaler. Expected DAQ data rate is about 8MB/s. Take data till the beam goes off. ================================================================ After the maintenance: continue with the "kinks and deltas" program if it has not been finished. ================================================================
