Run Plan for
Week of
17 Nov to 23 Nov 2004
Maintenance Day 17 Nov 2004
-
Install TEC with downstream
1cm aperature
- The TEC will stay in
until Thurday 17 November early morning
- The aperature will stay
in until very early Sunday morning (can Grant or someone else be
trained to do this?)
- Install Q6 horizontal
steering power supply and control
Evening and Graveyard Shift 17 to 18 Nov 2004
- TEC Studies of High rate
with aperature set
- Load High rate tune (nominal 29.6MeV/c tune, with F0=24mm
by 80mm) http://twist.triumf.ca/private/online/nominalsettings.txt
- Note that the Q6 DAC setting might need to change because
of steering! First we need to figure out how the quad
steering works, ie find the new DAC setting of Q6 to get back the
nominal DCT current(5 minutes)
- Take a run with detector and TEC on (about 15 minutes)
18 Nov 2004 Morning
Shift until 21 Nov 2004
- Remove
the TEC with non magnetic tools, but leave in the aperature.
- Take
out the foil degrader (back to position 0).
- Take
a low rate set
(actually this will be another "high rate" with aperature set which
gives us a low rate)
- Load High rate tune if it isn't still already tuned
(nominal 29.6MeV/c tune, with F0=24mm by 80mm) http://twist.triumf.ca/private/online/nominalsettings.txt
- Make sure all of the slit positions are correct (note
F2HP=-5.0mm)
- M rate with "high rate" and aperature is about 1400 for
100 muA primary beam current
- Since we already have an aperature data set stopping
slightly downstream, take this data set as centered in target
- Take runs monitoring stopping z from history qod, and
adjust stoppingZ
regulator to -0.75, you may need to manually adjust He/CO2 from uBeam
on statusbar to get within +/- 0.02
- Take >300 runs at this setting... expect it will take
until Sunday morning
21 Nov 2004 Morning Shift until
Maintenance (23 Nov Morning)
- Remove aperature with non-magnetic tools on morning of
Sunday 21 Nov 2004
- Take a nominal stopping
centered in target set
- We have a full set of these already, but
it is before we had stoppingz regulation so it ended up slightly
upstream!
- Load nominal tune (F0=18mm by 60mm) settings are found
here: http://twist.triumf.ca/private/online/nominalsettings.txt.
- Since the previous set was also centered in target
probably don't have to adust anything, just check that stoppingZ
regulator is set to -0.75 and that first few new points in
history qod stoppingz (when running) are around this value.
- Take > 300 runs at this setting... expect it will run
until maintenance day on Tuesday 23 Nov 2004.
