CERN: European Organization for Nuclear Research
DME: Dimethyl-ether, used in DC chambers.
DC: Planar Drift Chamber
HBOOK: A widely used CERN histogram filling tool, contains the
routines
HDIFF and HDIFFB used by QOD.
Histogram Types:
Sample: The current set of 10,000 events being analyzed by QOD.
Reference: A group of 40,000 events to which the Sample is compared.
Total: The sum of all events analyzed.
Changing: A special set of histograms which are statistically different
from
the reference.
ISO: Isobutane, used in PC chambers.
PAW: Physics Analysis Workstation
PC: Proportional Chamber
QOD: Quality of Data
TRIUMF: Tri-University Meson Facility
TWIST: TRIUMF Weak Interaction Symmetry Test
U and V Planes: Label for the wire chambers when rotated 45°
degrees
from the vertical axis.
