Typical Histograms

Typical DC histograms are shown in Figure 1 [*] (for upstream planes) and Figure 2 [*] (for downstream planes). Between upstream and downstream planes there is an increase in the number of planes with no hits, as many of the incoming particles are stopped at the target, and not all particles travel all of the way through the detector. Events which have many hits on a chamber occur only at track angles which are very near parallel with the plane. As this is unusual most events have a small number of wires hit in an event. The PC planes (Figure 3 [*] and Figure 4 [*] ) show a similar upstream versus downstream trend to the DC chambers, with a lower overall number of events due to the fewer number of PC planes in the detector.
