Event-of-the-Day

Wed 9 Jul 2003

Photo of the event-of-the-day for Wed 9 Jul, 2003.

Today's event of the day is probably a positron from muon decay in flight. The event got tagged and put into the ntuple as a possible pi->e nu event, but the momentum of the positron seems like it is probably too low for that.

The event classification for this event is:
 EventType:   14  (Beam Positron Trigger)
 Windows:   3
  window  1, T0= -10000., DC window= -10000.     20., hits PC,DC=   0   0 Min,MaxZ=   99.0  -99.0, type=   5 (Empty)
  window  2, T0=     70., DC window=     20.   1570., hits PC,DC=  15  53 Min,MaxZ=  -59.8   59.8, type=   4 (Beam Positron)
  window  3, T0=   1570., DC window=   1570.  20000., hits PC,DC=   0   0 Min,MaxZ=   99.0  -99.0, type=   5 (Empty)
 Hits DC,PC,PCadc,SC,SCadc=  69  15  15  10  8
 Classification: MuWin=  0  DecayWin=  0  TriggerWin=  2  EventType=  14

Additional information used to call this a possible pi->e nu event was:
 CPtime =  71.5000  (in range of pion) m12width=  6112.00

Helix Track Fit values:
 V=   -2.4066    0.8369    3.5998 P= -17.801   3.334  61.103 P= 63.730 CosT=0.9588 L=0.00000 Q= 1 T=   67.1 W= 2 Err=  0
