Photo of the event-of-the-day for Wed 7 May, 2003.
Today I'll post a data event (run 11754 event 996) that required a fix to my classification code. The event
is a muon which stops in the upstream PCs and promptly decays downstream. From this event, I found I had a
bug in a piece of code that tried to ignore lonely hits on planes. The bug was for tracks like this one where
the track passes through several uninstrumented parts of the detector. I have fixed this problem, and now the
event gets called a beam positron. I think this is reasonable. Here is the event classification:
EventType: 14 (Beam Positron Trigger)
Windows: 3
window 1, T0= -10000., DC window= -10000. 14., hits PC,DC= 0 0, Min,MaxZ= 99.0 -99.0, type= 5 (Empty)
window 2, T0= 64., DC window= 14. 1564., hits PC,DC= 18 69, Min,MaxZ= -59.8 59.8, type= 4 (Beam Positron)
window 3, T0= 1564., DC window= 1564. 20000., hits PC,DC= 0 0, Min,MaxZ= 99.0 -99.0, type= 5 (Empty)
