Event-of-the-Day

Mon 5 May 2003

Photo of the event-of-the-day for Mon 5 May, 2003.

Since I did not get around to debugging any new events, I will post the same event as Sunday's. The difference is that it has the PC array bound (nhmax_pc) increased. After some work verifying that we were able to reproduce the same event to debug it in GEANT. Peter and I found that the problem was with a different array dimension than Peter was originally thinking of. With this array bound increased, we got the missing PC hits, as can be seen in the attached photo (run1event1_0.ps). With these hits that used to be missing, the classification problem was also fixed. The MCTR info, and MC event type are unchanged. Now the event classification matches the MC event classification. I guess the wrong direction for the decay, but I don't think I can do much better on that.

The event classification using just TDC information is:
EventType: 11 (Time Scatter Cleaned)
 Windows: 7
  window 1, T0= -10000., DC window= -10000. -45., hits PC,DC= 0 0, Min,MaxZ= 99.0 -99.0, type= 5 (Empty)
  window 2, T0= 5., DC window= -45. 1504., hits PC,DC= 6 24, Min,MaxZ= -59.7 -0.2, type= 1 (Muon)
  window 3, T0= 1504., DC window= 1504. 6799., hits PC,DC= 0 0, Min,MaxZ= 99.0 -99.0, type= 5 (Empty)
  window 4, T0= 6849., DC window= 6799. 8301., hits PC,DC= 17 48, Min,MaxZ= -59.7 59.8, type= 4 (Beam Positron)
  window 5, T0= 8301., DC window= 8301. 8301., hits PC,DC= 79 381, Min,MaxZ= 0.2 59.8, type= 5 (Empty)
  window 6, T0= 8351., DC window= 8301. 9851., hits PC,DC= 60 160, Min,MaxZ= -59.7 -0.2, type= 9 (Upstream Decay (Scatter back downstream))
  window 7, T0= 9851., DC window= 9851. 20000., hits PC,DC= 0 4, Min,MaxZ= 4.6 29.8, type= 5 (Empty)

Thanks to Peter for showing me how to run GEANT in debug mode on a
particular event.
